The matte black Mag-Tac LED Flashlight from Maglite is a handheld illumination tool designed for civilians yet reliable enough for tactical professionals. Its 310-lumen LED light source is capable of producing a beam visible at a range of 200 yards. Like other Maglites, the Mag-Tac is machined from a lightweight aluminum alloy, anodized inside-and-out for enhanced corrosion-resistance, and manufactured in the United States.

Maglite's proprietary Quick-Click mode selector tailcap enables the operator to set the Mag-Tac output mode without cycling through the other modes each time the light is activated. When the tailcap is in the Momentary position, the flashlight will only illuminate while the switch is pressed. In addition to momentary activation, the Mag-Tac also has full-power and power-saving modes for constant illumination. Maglite Mag-Tac Reviews

Great Flashlight

Very bright and in a nice compact size. No issues that i have run into so far. Just be aware that the battery it comes with should be replaced immediately with long duration rated batteries. The flashlight chugs power while running on high.

Lots of light in a small package.

Great flashlight. I carry it in my pocket all of the time as we live in a rural area with no streetlights. I find myself using it in all types of circumstances because it is so handy. Recharges quickly. My wife and I each have one. You won’t be disappointed.

Why Maglite

There may have been some imperative reason for ordering this powerful MAG-TAC flashlight from Maglite that I have since forgotten during the extended time from when I ordered it to when I finally received it. Ah yes, Customer Service notified me that they were experiencing some difficulties because of the pandemic, but the excellent team at B&H still managed to ship it out within seven days. I usually purchase such things when on sale, but for some reason I felt it was worthy of paying the full price for this one, and as it turns out, it is hardly anywhere close to what I would commonly have for my own use. A button located on the end cap is always grounds for moving on during my search for a flashlight that I intend to carry because I prefer a button or rotational on/off control up front, with low beam as the first setting. With a push of the button the Mag-Tac can be used momentarily. I like that since that is how it will be used most. Successive quick pushes on the button take it to high beam and then to low beam for conserving power. The brightest setting at 671 lumens has a rather wide and far reaching beam, exactly what is needed for viewing a wider area. Purely intended for security, the kit includes a holder that can be mounted near a standard electrical outlet. The Mag-Tac won't need to be charged every time it is used, and the holder has a multi-color LED showing the charging progress. It's a good system because it helps keep the flashlight fully charged and you always know exactly where to find the Maglite when needed. That might even be my justification for ordering this Maglite, unless I happen to think of something better.... Maglite products have been around in a variety of flavors for decades, mostly known for providing nightsticks that operate like flashlights until the on/off button breaks. I know because I have owned several that I have purchased or received as gifts over the years, but this one has an LED and it is rechargeable, and that is a first for me..... It works fine, but every push on the button is another push closer to its final demise, which as we all know, is bound to happen eventually. But that is still a few years away so in the meantime I should get several hundred recharges, or so they claim is possible when using rechargeable Li-Ion batteries. And when that battery finally wears out, I can replace it with a new rechargeable battery. That's probably what I like about this flashlight the most, and might even develop an appreciation for it if this Mag-Tac continues to perform well.

This is a good torch for tactical purposes. It compares superior to a similar sized Led Lenser. The only down-side is the on/off toggle at the back. It tends to be difficult to select constant light, but otherwise this is an excellent unit for the price & BHPhotoVideo are brilliant to deal with as an international buyer!

DO NOT BUY is my Advice.

I have had so many Mag-lites, I have still the one I bought 29 years ago, Might be dull but Still even works, But these MAG-TEC we purchased 3 x that were delivered by B&H in perfect condition with no damage at all to the packing from delivery. THE BATTERIES FAILED  :-((((( and yes the first was in a dark roof with no phone as a backup torch. The NONE re-chargable I still use, even though batteries are not cheap, Cant recommend these at all SO sorry, but had to tell.

I do love it

I was searching for a new, high-powered flashlight in a relatively-smaller size, and without the complication of too many "modes." This is as bright as my much-larger current LED flashlight, while the electronic on-off button on the tail cap is super easy to activate, with "momentary-on" being one light press, "steady-on" with 2 presses, strobe with 3, and "off" from any mode with another steady press - simple (if you don't need lower power settings). The beam's reach and smooth pattern is great. I find the weight just enough to feel sturdy, and 5.25" length are just right, as well. While I haven't used the flashlight enough, yet, to know how long the batteries last, I can say that I am truly happy with this purchase, including the price.

Super bright, light, well built, best of all made in my home state of California. There are cheaper rechargeable flashlights, but really I wanted something that would last, and have always liked Mag-Lite. Also 10 year warranty on the flashlight is great, only 1 year for the battery unfortunately. The things that i wished were different were. Micro-B for the charger is kind of stupid. Makes getting a cable simple, but wish they would have updated it to USB-C or something more robust. The light only has two brightness settings. The bright is very bright, which is good, but then the low is pretty dim in comparison. Wish there was a setting in between. Overall I would recommend for anyone that could use a good compact rechargeable flashlight.

I would like to attach this to a tripod leg to help with focus in the dark. Can anyone recommend a suitable way of attaching it? Perhaps a flexible piece of tubing with clamps/grips? Thanks.

will this flashlight work well with a 18650 battery?
Asked by: Anonymous
No - the 18650 battery is too large and the voltage is too low (example: even though a 16650 will fit, it will not work).

question

Why does the Maglite website offer different information, in terms of specifications, for both the bezel and non- bezel rechargeable flashlights?
Asked by: Lauretta K.
The site is in error but it is not either number. Maglite retested many of their flash lights and that one at the maximum is 533 lumens on the standard Bezel and 543 on the Crowned Bezel.

What kind of replacement batterys does it need?
Asked by: Anonymous
Be carefully of what you replace them with, as due to the re-chargeable connections, you need genuine only, the C123 will not work correctly due to the end cap control switch that screw to secure the batteries are different, to the none chargable, I have 3 of these torches that all batteries are open circuit, must be a defect... :-(
