Can you plug this into an iPhone via an adapter?

Can you plug this into an iPhone via an adapter?
Asked by: Kevin
This USB mic can plug into an iPhone or other iOS devices, with the Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter BH #APMK0W2AMA. The Apple adapter will convert the audio signal to digital and allow for power to the iOS device and the microphone.

Can I convert this to XLR output with a USB to XLR adapter? Will it need phantom power at that point when connected to pre-amp like Beachtek DXA-MICRO-PRO or ZOOM mics?
Asked by: Andrew
No, it is not possible to convert a USB mic (digital) to XLR (analog). There are interfaces to convert analog microphones to digital, but not the other way around. You can get a large diaphragm condenser mic with an XLR output like the standard AT2020 (B&H # AUAT2020) or any other similar XLR condenser mic and use it with a Beachtek DXA-MICRO-PRO, Zoom digital recorder, or other mic preamp or mixer that supplies phantom power. For connection to your computer, you would just need to use a USB audio interface that can supplyphantom power like the Polsen XLR-USB-48 XLR to USB Audio Interface) B&H # POXLRUSB48) which is one of the least expensive and easiest to use. As another option, there are mics that provide both USB and XLR output like the Blue Yeti Pro (B&H # BLYETIPRO), Audio-Technica AT2005USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone (B&H # AUAT2005USB), Audio-Technica Consumer ATR2100x-USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone (B&H # AUATR2100XUS), and others. Will this work with MacBook Air?
Asked by: satesh
Yes, the AT2020USB+ microphone is compatible for use with a MacBook Air. For connection to a USB Type-C port on the computer, you will need to use an adapter such as the Apple USB Type-C to USB Type-A Adapter (B&H # APMJ1M2AMA) or Pearstone USB 3.0 Type-C to USB Type-A Adapter (B&H # PEUSB33CA06).

does it require phantom power?
Asked by: Diane
Phantom Power is used more in live situations (with a PA mixing board) or in studio recording with pre-amped mics. This is a pure Plug it into the USB port mic that does a really fine job for that application - BUT if you are trying to multi-task with this mic, you need to find another solution.

Does the included tripod stand have a way to screw into a standard 5/8" threaded mic stand?
Asked by: Ben
Yes, the stand mount that is included with the AT2020+USB microphone can be removed from the mini tripod stand and then you can attach the mic and stand mount to any standard microphone stand with a 5/8" thread. There is a 3/8" thread adapter included with the mic as well to allow you to use the AT2020+USB with boompoles and other stands that have a 3/8" thread.
