Watson LI-90B Compact Charger Reviews

Nice charger

The fold-out prongs are the highlight, making this a well thought out charger. No need to carry an extra cable, or repurpose prongs from an old macbook charger like I have to do for certain other chargers. All chargers should be designed like this.

WORKS GREAT

I recently purchased the Ricoh GRIIIx and did not like having to plug my camera in to charge the battery (that little door seems to flimsy -- my only complaint about the Ricoh GR). Anyway, charging the battery with an AC/DC charger is old school and the way i prefer. I happened to see this model and it was so affordable, I decided to try it. Any way, it works great and I'm very happy I purchased it. It fills my charging needs perfectly without a huge investment.

Doesn't work with Olympus or Ricoh batteries

I bought this to charge the my Ricoh GRIII batteries. Sadly, while this would do the job, the compartment is 1mm too small so the batteries don't fit. Since the Watson batteries replace both the Olympus and Ricoh equivalents, it makes no sense that this charger cannot charge those batteries just because of a design mistake. I am going to have to return it and get the expensive Ricoh one instead... :(

Works with Ricoh DB-110

Small, easy to use, has a nice car charging accessory for traveling. Most importantly I purchased this to determine if it worked with a Ricoh battery, which a few locations on the internet indicated it would because it’s the same as the Olympus battery. I can confirm that works with the Ricoh DB-110 (not tested with off brand batteries). It’s a great price too. One thing to note is when you plug it on, it will just stay red while it charges. No flashing or anything to indicate timing like some chargers. Red while charging, green when completed. Not a big deal.

Also Charges Ricoh DB-110 Quickly, Inexpensively

I bought the Watson charger because the optional external charger that Ricoh offers is several times more expensive and I was assured by one of the B&H camera guys that Watson's would work with the DB-110 battery of my Ricoh GR III camera. He was right: Having used it successfully about 5-6 times, I find that the charging time is fine and I now have the luxury of being able to carry around back-up batteries fully charged without stealing any time from camera usage to recharge the first battery internally. (As is well known, the GR III's battery has a relatively short life.) My only worry was that the first time I tried to insert the battery in the charger the fit was extremely tight. On subsequent attempts, however, it was easier, perhaps because the plastic had stretched a bit. I do wonder what the long-term effect of the tight fit may be on the battery, but so far everything looks and performs well. This concern is the only reason why I didn't give all five stars. Two other features I like: (1) the holding plate or adapter for the charger can be swapped very inexpensively (only about 2 bucks) to accommodate certain--but by no means all--batteries of other manufacturers' cameras; (2) the two prongs swivel in and out of the charger's body, making it easy to carry or store--very preferable to the sliding, but non-folding plug plate of some other chargers, although, of course, the latter makes it possible to slide in differently-shaped plugs for international travel.

Will this charger work for the LI-92B also?
Asked by: Anonymous
B&H has deleted my review. Anyone looking to charge their Olympus TG-4 batteries, look elsewhere! This will not work, despite the suggestion from BH's website that it does.
