A simple, yet powerfully effective tool for content creators, the Blue Microphones Yeti is a USB mic offering a broadcast-quality sound, a rugged design, and multiple recording modes to suit your needs. The Yeti, offfered here in a silver finish, has become a go-to mic for people who record podcasts, and who stream on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Live, and other similar platforms.

The multiple mic modes allow virtually any kind of content creator to do their thing with precision and ease. Use the cardioid setting to reject off-axis noise, minimizing room tone even when speaking directly into the mic. If you're recording with one other guest, select the Bidirectional polar pattern; now, you can speak into the front, while the guest speaks into the back, and the sides of the mic will reject unwanted room noise. Choose omnidirectional to pickup audio all around the capsule, which is great for work that features multiple voices. Finally, a stereo mode is wonderful for ASMR content or for recording music. A desktop stand and a USB cable are included, as is a suite of VO!CE software FX to improve your sound.

Fits Your Needs
This mic is perfect for recording directly to computers, be they mac or windows systems. With the right, separately available adapters, you can also record with Android and iOS devices.
All the Control You Need, Built Right In
Yeti features controls for headphone volume, pattern selection, instant mute and microphone gain—putting you in charge of every level of the recording process. If you're experiencing distortion or feedback while recording an especially loud source, simply adjust the microphone's sensitivity with the gain control. Or, if you want to take a break in the middle of a podcast, use the instant mute button. Also, the included stand allows for pivoting in a variety of angles for ideal placement, with the added functionality of folding the mic down for storage and transport.
3.5mm Headphone Jack with Latency-Free Monitoring
The mic has an integrated headphone amp with an independent gain control for latency-free monitoring. Simply plug your headphones into the mic's 3.5mm input, and you'll hear your broadcast-quality audio in all its glory.
Broadcast-Quality Digital Capture
The mic records audio at 16-bit / 48 kHz, giving you the broadcast standard for media playback. On the audio side, the tri-capsule design ensures that whatever mode you choose, the mic will pick up a clear and present sound.
Simple to Set Up
Just plug the Yeti into your computer's USB port with the included USB cable, select it as a device in your recording software, and you're ready to get to work. The Yeti runs off your device's power, so no need to plug it into a wall. With driver-free operation, you won't have to download pesky software to get it up and running.
VO!CE Software Included

Solid Microphone

I've used the blue yeti for a long time and decided to get another one. It's a solid microphone for podcasts, voice over, and gaming. It may not be as specialized and higher quality as XLR microphones but it still performs well.

Love this mic. It was so reasonably priced and gives great quality audio.

Needs a banana for scale, but otherwise great!

I got this for voiceover work on some training materials I'm developing, and I expected it to be about half it's actual size. I thought it'd be about 1-1/2, it's closer to 2-3/4 or just about 3 really. The mount is metal and solid, much heavier than I thought, which is a good thing. I did have to make a stand to put it on to raise it to mouth level, so you may want to look at getting a Mic boom for it. Performance is basically so good that it just doesn't even matter anymore, for any normal use. It has a preamp that generally you don't even need. The multiple patterns are also great for the various typical uses you need, single person, interview/two people, omni etc. 1/2 thread mount in the bottom that you can adapt to 1/4-20 if you want, or just get a mic boom with a 1/2 thread and done.

Needs a banana for scale, this is not a little hand mike.

So far so good, sounds excellent as expected. I will likely need to put it on a box to elevate it, or get a boom mount. Installation was removing from packaging and plugging in the usb cable. Done. This review is taking longer to write than the installation. What surprised me though is that it's about twice the size I expected. I figured it was maybe an inch and a half wide, subconsciously extrapolating from smaller hand held mikes I've had previously. It's 2-1/2 wide at the screen, 2-3/4 on the main body. 11-1/4 or so tall. I've seen complaints that the stand is flimsy, but it sure isn't, it's pretty weighty and metal, not plastic, which is good. You do need to tighten the side screws to firm positioning up, but that's done with fingers. There's a threaded hole on the bottom that's about 1/2 wide, apparently you can get a 1/4-20 adapter for it. I'm guessing it'll screw into a mike stand, but I don't have one to check. Nice rubber bottom, anti-skid and won't mark your desk up. I'm pretty happy with it, the build quality is good, no complaints there. Using with a Mac, just showed up in preferences as a selection for both input and output (has a headset amp built in, 1/8 jack). Recorded a test video screen capture with voice over, no problem. The multiple patterns are nice, I haven't tried them all yet, but I'll probably just use the Cardoid/single person pattern mostly. Ideal speaking distance seems to be around a foot, but you can easily use it from a yard or more away. Has gain control that I didn't even need to turn up at all. All in all, it seems like a no-brainer. I see why the major reviews are pretty unanimous in recommending it.

I thought the sound would be more on the lines of professional radio. I don't like the sounds that it gives. Looks good.

Sounds great, perfect for direct USB sound recording. The multiple pickup patterns make it the perfect all multi-purpose mic.

how can i connect a usb yeti to an evo4?
Asked by: Steven
There's not much reason to use a USB mic to an audio interface since the USB mic already has an A/D converter inside it, which is the primary role of the audio interface. You should be just fine plugging it into your computer. If you prefer the preamp sound of your evo, you should buy an analog mic instead. You'll probably end up getting more bang for your buck too

will this work online calls like skype and messenger?
Asked by: Francisco
You may use the Blue Yeti USB Microphone for skype and online messenger but it is best to use it with headphones as the potential for feed-back exists when the microphone is capturing the audio from the computer speakers and sends it back to the skype or messenger call.

Is there a calibration file available to flatten the peaky frequency response??
Asked by: Anonymous
The frequency response is pretty linear for this type of mic but you may apply EQ with most DAW software. Here's a good one which includes many tools including a Pro EQ - 7-band parametric EQ and a Channel Strip - dynamics processing and equalizer.

will this work for xbox one online purposes?
Asked by: Khalon B.
The Blue Yeti is designed for connection to a computer for audio recording applications. Although it is possible the unit may operate with other devices, the manufacturer does not recommend the unit for these devices and may not operate the way it is intended. Unfortunately we would not be able to confirm use other than intended by Blue.

how can i connect a usb yeti to an evo4 xlr jack?

how can i connect a usb yeti to an evo4 xlr jack?
Asked by: Steven
The Blue Yeti is a USB mic, so it has an audio interface built in to it already.and can not be adapted to connect to an audio interface, such as the Audient EVO4. I would recommend choosing a microphone with an XLR connection to pair with the audio interface, such as the AKG Project Studio P420 Multi-Pattern Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone, BH #AKP420B. Also, you can simply connect the Blue Yeti directly into your computer.
