This cable is great

I am building a 4k/12G video system. But not all signals are 12G. This provides a lower cost alternative for the distribution of reference, and timecode. By using the cable in blue, those signals are easily differentiated in the rack, and for wiring from the 12G cables. Between the cable, and connectors, it saved the project roughly $500. Not a lot, but every bit helps. It uses the same tooling as the 4855R cable I'm using for 12G, so It's a great solution. In building a system, consider using mixed cable colors for different applications... it helps in following cables quickly.

I would purchase this product from B&H again

Does anyone use this for events? We need 150' runs of 3G SDI. Thanks

I use this as internal cabling on my racks. It is good cable, however I would not trust on long lengths both for its shielding and for it’s thin profile which makes it less resistant to breakage. For long and exposed cable runs like that, in 3G, I would recommend Belden 1694a. It’s pretty much the industry standard at this point for broadcast. Very well shielded and very durable. It’s a little stiff at first, but will train to a nice coil over time. You can also use canare connectors as well if you like, you do not have to stick with the belden bnc connectors... but either will work just fine when terminating the cables.
