Can I use this headset as a Bluetooth earpiece ...
Can I use this headset as a Bluetooth earpiece with my iPhone or other smart phone?
The CS540 does not have Bluetooth built in, so no. It uses DECT (and requires the base), which is honestly great for call center type use cases as it has a great range and operates in a frequency not often used by many other devices (so very reliable and far less chance of audio cutting out). Plantronics does offer lots of Bluetooth wireless headsets though that are also fantastic.

question
Hi I cant seem to fit the CS540 telephone interface cable on my home phone. My home phone rj connector looks slightly larger. Do i need to change my home phone or can i get a telephone interface connector from plantronics that will match my home phone? Thanks
Your home phone connector is RJ11 and the Plantronics connector is RJ9, which is the standard for commercial phone headsets. You can buy an adapter that's RJ9 to RJ11 to solve your problem.

question
Wanted to make sure it will work with a Cisco 7821/7841 IP phone. And if we don't need remote answer/end it should be all we need right? Thanks-Jennie
I have no idea about the Cisco 7821/7841 IP phone, but the headset works to answer and end calls you can also put calls on hold (that took a while to figure out). There is this thing you have to place on your reg phone that will hear if its ringing and then it will beep on the headset to alert you there is a call coming in. Not sure if that answered your question or not.
