Logitech M510 Reviews

Logitech M510 Wireless USB Mouse (Red)

...to upgrade/replace an older Logitech M325 Wireless Mouse (Red) See photo. This economical, seemingly small upgrade has made a big difference in computer comfort for me. The full size, right-handed M510 is a little heavier (for one thing because it uses two AA cells instead of the M325's single AA battery) and easier to control with my average sized adult right hand. It is very smooth and quiet to use. I look forward to adapting to the two forward/back thumb buttons, to use for web browser navigation, that the little M325 did not have. I enthusiastically recommend this mouse for basic everyday desktop use. The excellent items and fantastic B&H service I receive always makes me want to buy more stuff!

Good emergency mouse

Logitech has always been my go-to for inexpensive mice. I currently own a G series Logitech wired gaming mouse for my music studio and this one for when the Bluetooth goes wanky. The plug in transmitter is always reliable and theres the bonus of not having to string a wire through tight spaces. Nothing really bad about the M150, but it feels a bit light and toyish, especially when using the scroll wheel. All in all, though, a reasonably priced and reliable mouse.

A Welcome Change

Our CAD Technicians were having problems with the mouse we had been using and our replacement stock consisted of keyboard and mouse combos and taking a replacement mouse from the combos was making a mess out of our stock. After studying the available mouse-only products available I settled on the Logitech 510. It had more features than our existing equipment and better reviews. Our users echoed the good reviews I had found: Much better; It fits my hand better or It's more comfortable; It has eliminated my complaint with the old one; etc.

A good, full-sized wireless mouse!

I was looking for a full-sized wireless mouse when upgrading from a wired mouse, since I do have large hands. After comparison shopping, I decided that the Logitech M510 Wireless Mouse would be the one to get. It feels good in my hand, although it is heavier than the wireless model due to the two batteries inside. It didn't really take long to get used to the weight, and now I think that it is fine. Overall, it is a good product, and I am happy with it!

mouse fine, wasteful shipping

Still working fine after a week, but that huge paper box, that could have fit 20 mice totally bothered me. It came already in a hard plastic shell, small bubble wrapping what have been fine.

Third one... all great.

I have had several of these over the years. Currently I have one at home with the home office laptop dock, one at work with the office dock and another plugged into the laptop itself from when I'm traveling/mobile. I like the way these mice fit in my hand and have become so used to them, I don't really like other mice. Batteries seem to last forever too!

Annoying poor experience

Logitech is annoying. The products are not perfect and they are overpriced. Be prepared for something to go wrong. Be prepared to spend a lot of time fixing the issues.

question

Are the programmable buttons able to be configured to use a keystroke (on iMac OS X 10.11.6)? I ask because my older Logitech M305 could be assigned and I have not found a newer one to replace it that does more than offer presets to select from. Not what I want.
Asked by: Nancy O.
NONE of the buttons have any effect on my MacBook Pro Retina whatsoever (late 2013 version, purchased from B&H in September 2014). Also, the darn thing does not track on the black fabric mousepad I've been using for years with an earlier cordless Logitech mouse. At the moment, I'm using the T-shirt on my stomach for a mousepad as I lie here in bed, and the mouse is actually hot - how weird is that? NOR can I use my old mouse with the new receiver that came with this new Logitech mouse! (My laptop fell off of the bed and broke the little USB dongle - better than damaging my laptop at least.) ALSO, this new mouse does NOT have the freely spinning wheel option, which I find incredibly annoying (it is always in the clicky mode, so it takes forever to get back to the top of a page). I might have to spend a hundred bucks to get a fancy Logitech wireless mouse that actually works with Macs. Good luck! NB: I keep clicking on Submit Answer button and nothing happens - I hope this response doesn't show up a dozen times!

I use Duracell AA from Costco. The mouse is used at least 4 each day, never turned off and it's been over a year and they are still working fine.

Is the Logitech M510 the same size as the Kensington Pro Fit Mid-Size Wireless Mouse K72405US? if not is it bigger or smaller? I actually liked the Kensington for 8-months but now it seems to have a mind of its own and I'm doing battery changes often.
Asked by: Christopher
The Kensington mouse you have is 3 x 8 x 5.2 and is overall bigger than this Logitech mouse.
