Logitech M705 Reviews

Worst I've ever used

DEAL BREAKER: The cursor movement is really bad. They put the sensor way off on the edge of the mouse (not centered). The result is that you have to constantly fight it to get the cursor where it needs to go. If you move like a robot, lock your entire arm and only use your shoulder to move perfectly straight up and down, you can use it. However, as soon as you have any amount of natural diagonal movement, or wrist bending, it's a complete mess and unusable. PROS: ergonomics, buttons and wheel, uses rechargeable AA batteries (YES! Avoiding land-fills should be standard), built-in slot for the USB receiver so you don't lose it while traveling. Nice touch! CONS: The little feet on the bottom have sharp edges and drag harshly on surfaces. It sounds like you're scratching the surface as you move it around, like sandpaper. MANUFACTURER: Logitech does make other mice that track well with centered sensors. For example, the MX Anywhere and Master Series (but they don't have replaceable batteries) and even the cheaper M500s (which isn't wireless). Looks like the G305 might be the best option at this price point.

Love this one

I have one of these that I have been using for many years. It fits the hand perfectly (at least mine) and has more than enough controls. The connection with the tiny dongle is more stable than Bluetooth connections. I just bought a second to use with another computer in a different location. Incredible value for the dollar.

Perfect, but ...

It was idiot-proof to install in Windows 10 computer for someone use to a basic mouse. Basic functions work perfectly. but it has more than basic buttons; and I find the online instructions difficult, i.e. poorly written from my viewpoint. I do not have hours to spend on trial and error, unraveling this puzzle. (I was an instruction writer for complicated processes for part of my work life). Maybe modern instructions should be in two versions: a brief one for the knowledgeable and a more detailed one for the rest of us.

Works great!

I was already using one of these at work and decided to get one for home use as well, because I got used to being able to side scroll with the work mouse. Works fantastically, and as an aside I don't use the additional downloadable software because it doesn't seem to add any useful features. It may be that certain software features (like assigning custom functions to buttons) are only available if one creates an account, but I didn't test that theory because I don't need yet another account to unlock features that don't matter to me anyway, and the standard Windows drivers work flawlessly as far as I can tell.

Logitech is annoying

Logitech is annoying. The products are not perfect and they are overpriced. Be prepared for something to go wrong. Be prepared to spend a lot of time fixing the issues.

I bought this mouse because I can program the buttons and the battery lasts over 1 year. This is my second M705, first one I thought was going bad after 3 years but when I installed the software for the second one the first one works grate now, so I have a spare.

Is this the original M705 or the new 'bad' one?

I've owned both this model on this page and the old one, and I have to say the older one was better because the laser doesn't detect the surface when you pick it up. That's the only problem I have with this one.

question

how do you get this mouse to start working?
Asked by: Anonymous
If you have Windows 7 and above, insert the usb adapter in a usb port. Put batteries in the mouse. Turn the power on using the switch placed on the bottom of the mouse and wait for Windows to detect the mouse and install the drivers.
