Omnirax Presto Reviews
Not What I Expected
I ordered this desk for use as a video editing station. After researching the product online I decided on the Presto desk as shown in the photo - however there are TWO Presto editing desks which appear almost identical. I didn't know this and I ordered the wrong one. The Presto Four is the desk I wanted. The ONLY difference between the two is the height of the monitor platform. The Presto Four is designed at the proper height for editing - but the Presto platform is 4 higher and strains the neck to look up that high. The differences in the product descriptions are NOT apparent. The prices are exactly the same - making it even harder to differentiate the two. I wanted a desk like the one in the photo with the light colored desk tops - but that option doesn't exist. Apparently the only choices are all black, or all black. No option. So I ended up with all black. The keyboard tray in the photo does not come with the desk - it is $150 extra for the tray. The photo is very misleading. When I ordered my desk I didn't know that there were two different Presto models, and I ordered the Presto by mistake. Shipping was very slow, taking more than 3 weeks for the desk to arrive. When it arrived I constructed the desk, which took nearly 3 hours. it was only then that I realized that this was not the desk I had thought I ordered - the monitor platform was too high to use efficiently. I contacted B&H, who contacted Omnirax, the manufacturer. They informed me that there were NO refunds or exchanges once the desk had been constructed. I'm stuck with it. If you want this desk please be certain that you are ordering the correct one because the Omnirax description and the photo is very misleading to the buyer. I am not pleased with this purchase, or the manufacturer.
Nothing about this table disappoints. After about 2 hours of assembly this table was put to full use. It looks sleek and it holds plenty of equipment. You need to be pretty good with tools to put the table together though.
Omnimax makes 2 workstations - The Presto and the Presto 4. The main difference is in the height of the monitor platform. I ordered the Presto by mistake but rather than send it back I thought I would give it a try. But I can't use it for editing. The height of the monitor platform is so high that you have to look upward to see the screens which causes a bad kink in the neck. After hours of editing it becomes unbearable. Otherwise it's a very nice solid desk. I now hope I can exchange it for the one I needed. The Presto 4 platform is 4 lower and would be perfect. Note - they don't offer the multi-colored desk shown in the picture - only black on black.
This desk is really awesome. I am a video editor and it helps keep everything at eye level and not too much clutter.
