Key Features
  • Engraved Metal Connector Graphics
  • Strong Heat-Shrink Tubing Throughout
  • Handmade in the USA
Whirlwind Medusa Multitrack Series Snakes are designed from the ground up for durability, ease-of-use, and to sound great. This snake is 10 feet long with 4 XLR Female connectors fanned out at one end, and 4 XLR Male connectors fanned out at the other. Numbers are clearly labeled with easy-to-read graphics engraved into the metal on each connector. A laser engraving process is used that heats up the surface below the finish, so the labeling can't wear off.

Medusa Multitrack Series Snakes are constructed with Whirlwind multipair cable with a heat-shrunk fanout at each end. For more than 30 years Whirlwind has been manufacturing snakes that professionals rely upon in the studio and for live sound.

What is the length of each segment -- that is, ...

What is the length of each segment -- that is, from an individual XLR plug to where it enters the four-cable bundle, and the segment where the four cables are bundled together? For instance, if the "fanned" portions were 2' each and the bundled portion were 10', it would be 14' from a male XLR plug to its matching female plug.
Asked by: David
I just measured my cable, and each fan is approximately 2' and the bundled segment is about 6', so the total length (XLR male to XLR female) is the advertised 10'. You do not get a "bonus" 4' due to the two fans -- their length is included.
