This dvd is a great way to get knowledge about a new piece of equipment. The camera is broken down in a way that anyone can understand.

If it weren't for the fact that I'm a total novice, I might have had an easier time following this video. That said, I think anyone with this camera can benefit from this DVD. I am going to have to watch it several more times before I think I will become more familiar with all the functions. The one thing I did find annoying was the fact that my PC DVD player would not pause when I clicked on the pause button to try some of the suggestions. I did this several times during the playback, and each time I had to actually click the stop button to get it to stop playing. Needless to say this was annoying as h_ll, because each time I had to start from the beginning and fast forward to the areas in question. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

I should have bought this with thecamera

The video was great for explaining and demonstrating all the features of the camera. I'm planning to purchase vol. 2 (advanced).

I am very pleased with this instructional DVD. It walks through things you can find in your manual but is more in debth, and takes the time to explain and review.

Excellent review or for a new user

Not only gives terrific detail on how to get the best use of your 5D but is an excellent review of the principles of good photography. Good for the beginner or the pro going to a new camera.

Blue Crane teaches you about every setting on your camera. It is a movie you can watch and play with the camera at the same time, at your convience. Plus, the price at B&H was by far the best I have ever paid one of these DVD's.
