This Olympus PTCB-E02 Underwater Fiber Optic Cable is used to connect the built-in sensor on an Olympus underwater flash to an Olympus housing with optical cable port. When the camera's internal flash fires, the cable will fire the external flash. The L shaped connectors resist bending and have improved light conducting efficiency.

Very simple to use, just plug and play. I found that they are very tough and rugged and can take a beating underwater and still work (they don't break easily). Found best use is to use the RC mode and adjust brightness with the exposure comp and zoom for beam angle.
Didn't need it to hook up the UFL-2 to my Olympus TG-2. They hook wirelessly and seemlessly together
U have to have this thing! It makes underwater photography easy. Just put it in adapter and in flash. Than turn your flash in ttl setup and enjoy your photography. It can be set underwater.
