I wanted to protect my stands during local shoots and this fits the bill. As another noted, it would be nice if the shoulder strap could be removed.
When I first received the bag, I really liked it. The shoulder strap made it easy to carry, save for the large logo (not much into large flashy logos) it looked nice, and I had high hopes. However, within a year it began to separate at the seam. Buyers remorse immediately set in. I had been eyeing a more expensive bag and regretted choosing this cheaper option. This bag is not as durable as I had hoped. I travel often for shoots, inner city and state to state, by car or bus. This bag has never experienced airline-baggage-handling abuse and began to fall apart within a year. To its credit however, I must admit that it can hold a lot: four various sized light stands, four various sized umbrellas (60 - 22 canopies), and a few odds and ends. I purchased it in October 2018 and within that year and eight months the initial tear enlarged, another began on the bottom and the ballistic nylon on the bottom is tattering from being stood on-end. While I could still squeeze some use out of it, I prefer not to come on site looking ragged. As another reviewer stated, it could benefit from tougher material on the ends. I would also suggest using a tougher nylon (like the stuff of which the Lowepro backpacks are made–that stuff is killer!) and reinforcing the seams. I give it three stars because I got a fair amount of mileage out of it while fully loaded (4 trips to D.C., 2 to ATL, 3 trips to NYC, Delaware maybe once or twice and numerous inner city trips), but I had hoped for more. At the end of the day, as we all say, albeit while secretly hoping we've found the exception, you get what you pay for.
I really bought it to hold 1 light stand and 1 alien bee strobe. I can fit the strobe in with it and an umbrella and a 50' AC extension chord, but only if I do not have the strobe in a separate small bag �(which I feel I should for added protection of a tight fitting insulated lunch bag). this bag is just an inch or two too thin. but still very useful
..a slightly larger diameter would be nice along with a hard top on either end. I will use it until I find similar item with the attributes previously mentioned.
I bought this case to carry my larger stands and be able to check them with the airlines. While I haven't flown yet, I think the case will do the job. Two quibbles-- the long strap is sewn into the bag... I believe the airlines prefer these detach and stow in the bag. The suggestion is give the interior of the bag a little more volume, so a few more stands would fit inside.
Great! A little padded on the inside... feels like it will last much longer than my last bag.
