This Extension screws onto Ikelite's FL Modular 8" Dome Port or FL Modular Flat Port, each of which accommodates lenses attached to DSLRs or mirrorless cameras in Ikelite underwater housings. When used with the dome, this extension is compatible with many short zoom lenses measuring up to 3.5" long and 3.3" in diameter. When used with the flat port, it accommodates lenses up to 3.4" long. Compatible models include those from Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Tamron, Panasonic, Olympus, and Sony. For a list of lenses that can be used with the extension, please see the following port charts: FL, FL for Panasonic Lumix GH3/GH4 Housings, and FL for Sony Alpha 7-series Housings. This extension has the same standard 200' depth rating as most Ikelite ports and housings.

Its a great idea when you can spend money and you can use all the equipment you have. With the port body you can use diferent lenses you have

Best port for boat dives

This port saves me the hassle of changing ports while on a boat. I can use my wide angle or short macro without having to use any tools to make a change between dives.

Plastic is rough, shreds your lens cloth

For it's intended use, this port does the job. However, I wish Ikelite would have thought more about the material. Specifically, the plastic has a rough texture similar to sandpaper that shreds a lens cloth, leaving tiny fibers floating around inside the dome. The 8 dome interior is not easy to clean, and I even resorted to rinsing it out to get rid of the fibers, but they still randomly appear on my footage. My advise is to take the port off the dome before cleaning, and only use a cloth that cannot be shredded.
