The Glidecam Forearm Brace for Glidecam XR-Series, HD-Series, and GLDGSS Stabilizers distributes the weight of your stabilizer over your entire forearm by virtue of Glidecam's exclusive and unique exoskeletal forearm support brace. The brace not only provides you with cushioned comfort while shooting, but also eliminates torque, which would otherwise cause stress on your wrist. With the forearm brace, the Glidecam system becomes an extension of the human body for smooth and natural shooting. The forearm brace works with the Glidecam XR-Series, HD-Series, and GLDGSS Stabilizers.
- Distributes Weight Evenly over Forearm
- Cushioned Support

Glidecam GLARM Reviews
Worth it
This is great for glidecam users who are doing run and gun documentary work and are followIng characters for long takes. It adds much needed support to your wrist which I find to be the most painful area when using a glidecam for an extended period. Less pain means steadier shots. Definitely recommend this item.
Glidecam 2000 brace
Helps a lot, not a magic bullet though...nothing beats a full steadicam rig-
A good tool for quick video clips - 30-45 seconds or less.
It helps to relieve some of the pressure when filming, but I do find it transfers all the weight onto the top of my forearm right at the elbow and that causes some discomfort.
Helpful!
This is great to help distribute the weight...however, really long shots you will probably need a vest. This helps you go a bit longer than just the usual time if you were doing the Glidecam without any support.
Is it worth $150?
Literally received this unit today. While it does take the weight off your wrist, the weight is then transferred to your forearm and shoulder. Build quality of the velcro brace is nice, though the bar that extends out is scratches REALLY easily. Pretty bad. the coating seems to be very thin. Little things like this make you want to switch to a Ronin, which will be the next think I buy. But the brace does what it's supposed to do.
Just as advertised
I wanted this brace because my wrist would get sore when using my DSLR on a Glidecam. It helps with the wrist but I find that my arm gets sore faster. It may be because I no longer feel the strain on my wrist but I think a full sleeve would be best for extended recording. All and all I would recommend this product.
Necessary
I truly appreciate this brace. Although it is a simple brace, and there are others that exist, as well as DIY options. Personally I chose to just go with Glidecam's brace because it is a high quality brace, and comfortable. It is difficult to operate the Glidecam with out the brace. If you don't have the budget for the vest at the moment, the forearm brace will give you that extra support; other wise you will suffer from pain in your wrist after operating the glidecam during a long production day. Please do yourself a favor, take care of your body as you create art, get a forearm brace to protect your wrist. I almost dropped my Glidecam set up after dealing with sharp pain in my wrist (basically arthritis symptoms), without the brace. The brace has given me the power to continue using the system, and I suffer from a lot less strain in my wrist.
good value - would buy again
very solid - good design. It would be nice if they would offer accessories so you could substitute different diameter rods to fit into other things...
