Maglite Mini Reviews

Still the same

And what more could you ask for? Someone gave me the LED version, which is great for footpaths in the dark, but it was too bright for close work.

This one is a gift, but I've had my own for years

Based on many years using a Maglite Mini, I can say it's a tough, excellent light to keep near by. Mine is black and has been invaluable in changing a tire at night on a dark road, changing fuses and changing channels when only a little light is needed. Love the ability to focus or diffuse light and the long-lasting battery life. After more than 10 years the worst thing that's happened is something about the twist/on-off switch has gone sloppy so besides a twist, I occasionally have to tap the casing too for the light to come on. Still works and I've gotten more than my money's worth from the investment. No doubt this new light will perform as well and probably be much brighter too.

Decent in a pinch.

Ive owned a lot of flashlights over there years including lots of AA mini mags. This light is ok at best and its a real let down in the lumens department. I would opt for the AA version if you are looking at the min mag lights (its only like $2 more). I thought this would be a smaller lighter version with similar handling but its just too dim for my taste. If you want a cheap pocket light for small inspections this may do the trick.

Great little light. But be careful. This is my second one. First one had batteries leak and corroded in the light. Could not get them out. Had to throw it away. Not covered by mag light under warranty. Probably best to replace batteries yearly

High Quality, One Objection

As expected from MAGLite, quality is excellent, worth the price in a market filled with defect prone flashlights. My objection: I find changing from full power to reduced power (battery saving) by rotating the head twice, quickly (on - off - on reduced power) is awkward. I would MUCH prefer a push button with 3 presses (on - on low power - off).

They used to come in a box...

Yeah, OK, it's a Maglite. They're awesome. I needed a 2xAAA LED Mini. Some places wanted $40 so I went shopping. I'd patronized B&H many times over the last million years so I had no problem ordering from the. I got a Maglite in a presentation case (right in the garbage, that's going) in a zipper bag I got what I paid for.

Great quality

Same as my review for the blue Maglite Mini

Though this light will be a gift, I've owned a black Maglite Mini for years and love having it. Great battery life, very tough case so it's an exceptional value. After more than 10 years use, I occasionally have to tap the side of the case after twisting the head to turn the light on, but it still works every time. Great value and the new version I just purchased is likely much brighter too.

I cannot unscrew to insert batteries?
Asked by: Anonymous
The back should unscrew for you to insert batteries. You might need to exert a little more force. Though, if you continue to have issues with this, you might contact our Customer Service Department. [email protected]bhphotovideo.com

question

how to replace batteries?
Asked by: Anonymous
Very easy, just unscrew the cap at the back of the torch (the one with the small hole in for a carry strap), and then just turn it over to let the batteries slide out. Push 2 new AA batteries in and screw the cap back on tightly being careful not to damage the o- ring.
