Neewer CN-160 Reviews
Does good for what it is.
These aren't bad for being battery powered LED lights, but they are limited on how large an area they light up. From about 20 feet away, you have an area about 8 feet wide and about 4 feet tall of full brightness, and it tapers off quickly from there. They are good for product shots or portraits, though you will want two for that, but not lighting a large area. On batteries, you can load AA batteries directly into the light, but they won't really last very long. Maybe an hour or so. You can use a variety of camera batteries, but watch what size you get. I have Sony NP-960's which last several hours, but they are relatively heavy, and it can cause the light to flop, no matter how tight you turn the tightening knob. Also, with the camera batteries, they don't start to dim when the battery gets low, they just suddenly go out, though that's more the nature of LED lights and maybe the battery, so not a negative thing on these lights themselves, just more a heads up in general.
