CAD E50 Overview

  • 2Built for Performance
  • 3Cardioid Polar Pattern for the Untreated Room
  • 4Phantom Powered by Compatible Interface

Get yourself a great vocal sound with the Equitek Series E50 Microphone from CAD, a large-diaphragm condenser mic designed for studio and home studio applications. Whether you're recording podcasts, voice overs, or sung vocals, this high-sensitivity, low-noise mic will deliver a true-to-life sound.

The mic's high sensitivity ensures the nuances of your performances will be captured. The cardioid polar pattern focuses on what's directly in front of the capsule, leaving the rear of the mic unheard and minimizing room-tone pickup in the process. The mic comes with its own shockmount.

Built for Performance
The Equitek E50 large-diaphragm, side-address studio microphone captures your performance with a smooth, articulate, and true-to-life profile, thanks to its 24 karat, gold-sputtered, 34mm diaphragm. Capturing frequencies between 20 Hz and 20 kHz, this mic will ensure the most subtle details are captured, doing so without introducing noise of its own.
Cardioid Polar Pattern for the Untreated Room
The microphone makes use of a directional cardioid polar pattern to minimize off-axis sound. This polar pattern naturally, yet effectively tamps down room tone and focuses the audio capture on what's directly in front of the mic.
Phantom Powered by Compatible Interface
This is a condenser mic, requiring 48V phantom power to operate. Luckily, your interface most likely can supply phantom power to the microphone over any working XLR cable.

Nice microphone with clear, clean and balanced sound capture. Interesting look with heavy duty and well-made shock mount. Initial impression is very positive. Discount price was more than right. JR

You get your money's worth with this mic. Better bass response than the MXL 770 which I replaced with the E50. I took off a star because you can't safely mount this upside down, The shock mount will only hold it securely straight up. It'll fall out if mounted upside down...be careful! This means, for boom users, the boom needs to be a bit lower. This may or may not work for your setup. Otherwise very decent!

Underrated & truly wonderful!

I don't have a single negative about this microphone. I've had nothing but good experiences with CAD. Prior to this I had the e100s. I love the smooth sound and low self noise of this microphone. I use it connected to a zoom H5 and either directly to my MacBook or into my Canon r6 (mostly for narration or voiceover). The e100s was a bit pricey, but this e50 is remarkably good value. Highly recommended!

You won't find many better than this for the price.

CAD is criminally underrated when it comes to budget mics. The M179 is a nice example, and now THIS! Smooth smooth and smooth. This mic sounds like a $500 mic on just about every voice...can't beat that.

Seems to be a solid Microphone.

I haven't gotten to use it much yet since I have been really busy during the Christmas season but I did test it. It seems to be a very quite and versatile Mic and am looking forward to trying it on a lot of different instruments. It is a very straight forward mic with no hi pass filter or 10db cut switches but seems to be well made. More later!

Sounds great

Good front-to-back separation.
