I was considering a few different projector options but decided to go with the Epson as I am quite sensitive to rainbow effect with DLP projectors. I have no regrets going with this model. Set up and alignment were very easy, it looks great and it is easily bright enough to run in eco mode full time except when the room is very brightly lit. I have tried doing some light gaming with it and the response time is totally fine.
Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a home projector.
A very solid full HD projector

The picture quality is exactly what you would want from full hd, focusing is easy, and I love the versatility of the vertical and horizontal flipping- if you flip both axis, you can put a front-surface mirror at a 45 angle in front of the lens, and project on your ceiling.
The 3 lcd design spoils me, with not seeing rainbow flashes around moving scenes.
I wish the remote had a button to dim the brightness, it's almost too bright at night.
I also wish this was an led-powered projector, to save power and so it didn't heat up the room so much.

Our camera club uses this for presenters and competition reviews. This unit has excellent color gamut and fidelity. We run it at the 6000 degree setting and are very pleased with color accuracy.

This projector is not overly complicated, has no unnecessary frills, and is easy to figure out. The only thing I wish it could do but it doesn't is to have some level of optical zoom. If you have a fixed screen size to fill, you will have only one option for distance to screen placement. The image seems bright and sharp, and digital keystone works, but I don't like it, so I have to move the placement left, right, up, and down to not have to use it. I just set it up temporarily for showing movies at home with a manfrotto photo tripod and a projector mount platform/plate. The cord isn't very long either, so an extension cord is usually a must.
As good as 1080P gets!

I have only owned one projector before this, but it has been a few years since then. That projector was so good that it ended up only being used for Halloween displays. I have a OLED TV in my living room right now, but was looking for something bigger to watch when we have company over. I started looking at projectors, because upsizing my television would only gain 10" diagonally at a significant cost. I decided that I would try a 1080p projector because it would not replace my TV, and 4K units are twice as expensive. After a lot of research the Epson Home Cinema 1080 ended up as my first choice. Epson obviously made big changes from the 800 series projector which reviewers criticized because it had only 1 HDMI port and no zoom, in exchange for greater lumen output. This projector keeps the increased output, and adds another 100 lumens. The 1080 also gets zoom, and 2 HDMI ports. Another big plus is that it has built in WIFI.
Unboxing the projector led me to a quick setup of roughly 10 minutes. I was actually shocked at the brightness of the picture, I was able to see clear sharp images projected onto a denim colored wall, in a bright room. The cooling fan while not silent , is far from distracting. I was initially dubious about the manufactures claim of a 300" image. The projector did easily reach that size, on the default brightness. The colors are well saturated, with good contrast even on the dark wall. Even fast motion appeared smooth with no blurring or edge staggering. Image correction is a breeze , with a broad range of settings on the projector and remote.
One of the concerns I had about projectors was the cost of maintenance. Online prices for replacement lamps left me at ease, with lamps selling for as little as $50. I know that this review makes this projector seem perfect. I think the picture and features are fantastic for the price, but there are a couple of weak points. Unless you are using HDMI, you are stuck with RCA jacks as part of composite input for audio, or you connect your audio via a headphone jack. Choose one or the other, because the projector’s built in speaker sounds like a homemade tinfoil kazoo. I opted to use the headphone jack connected to a Yamaha sound bar, and am very satisfied with the results. If you can live with the audio limitations, this projector gets you the most 1080p bang, for any buck. The image quality and size capability of this projector cannot be beat dollar for dollar by the competition. I'm keeping mine. This is a review for the Epson Home Cinema 1080 3LCD projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Got this for Christmas as a gift. I love it, it super bright at 50% brightness and the quality is amazing. One feature I would have liked to have is the ability to play a mp4 home video from a usb stick
