This handy light utilizes a correct color LED that has a CRI rating above 90 that makes it much easier to accurately see color versus normal LEDs that have harsh intense light with low CRI's around 70. Other performance details include high and low outputs and a flashing mode controlled using a simple and intuitive push button located on the body. Its compact and lightweight polycarbonate housing weighs just over 6 ounces with three AA batteries installed, so it's comfortable to carry, hold, and use all day. It is sealed to an IPX8 rating to make it waterproof and submersible. To make it easy to find when it's turned off the green housing is photoluminescent, which means it absorbs ambient light (including light from the LED) and glows a faint green in the dark.
