The Aluminum Side Handle from SmallRig provides a secure grip for your NATO rail-equipped camera or camera cage. This aluminum handle can be configured for right- or left-side use and slides up and down for optimal positioning. The top of the handle features three 1/4"-20 threads and one cold shoe mount for adding a light, microphone, monitor, mounting arm, or other accessory.
The Aluminum Side Handle features a non-slip silicone grip and includes an Allen wrench that can be stored within the handle.

I bought this to attach to my Smallrig cage for my D850. It feels great when attached to the cage. good control, good ergonomics. Very pleased with this handle. I opted for the NATO attachment feature. And it works great. Sturdy, no sign of flex in the system which is reassuring.

While you wouldn't really write a review on a side handle, the additional features Small Rig provides with this is awesome. Having the cold shoe mount got my microphone out of the way of my monitor and the Allen key in the bottom is super handy to have on the fly. I use to have a screw on side handle for my cage and it was a pain to take on and off when transporting my rig, now its ten times easier. I will most likely replace my top handle in the future with a NATO rail handle as well. Overall: Build quality is fantastic, grip is super comfortable, just all around a great product. Worth the buy.

The nato clamp gets in the way of my thumb, and the handle is just too slippery. If your rig isn't too heavy it works okay, but otherwise it's just not too great.

This handle is rock solid and built like a tank. The grip has rubber stripes on both sides to make it universal. I will say that this handle is not suited for smaller hands. It does not rotate to different positions. It does provide a strong NATO grip to the SmallRig cage and stores easily.

Great little handle. The NATO adaptor is a bit long so I adapted it to my cage directly as I like to have a handle on the left side of my A7iv for utility.

The SmallRig Aluminum Side Handle with NATO Clamp uses a NATO clamp for mounting, so if the L bracket has a NATO rail then yes, the SmallRig Aluminum Side Handle with NATO Clamp will be able to be mounted to it.

Can you run a camera strap on the side of it?
Can you run a camera strap on the side of it?
It is possible run a strap directly to either side depending on the width of the strap; however, without a D ring or anchor of some kind the strap wouldn't be able to swivel forwards or backwards easily. I use a strap that has detachable, non-metallic anchors that easily attach to the side handle and provide plenty of movement in any direction. I recommend non-metallic anchors if you're capturing audio.
