Very high quality build. Mostly plastic, but nice high quality fellnig plastic. There are some knobs/swtchers that are metal, but most iis plstic. Do not let that take away from this device though. It feels very high quality. It performs perfectly in Elite Dangerous immediatly by just plugging it in. Windows just recognized the device and it worked by just plugging it in. No additional software or config needed. my only coomoplaint, is that this is not supported in the loogitech G hub software even though this is listed as in their G line of devices. I really want to get into on branded ecosystem (corsair, steelseries, razer, thrustmaster) and purchasing such a nice peripherial would have made me start ammassing more logiitech stuff, but it seems this isn't supported and therefore doesn;t work in their ecosystem.. it's an orphaned device because logitech just bought it from Saiitek and put their sticker on it. (oh, and changed the color

A Solid Step Up

All in all, a worthy controller. Throttle feel is butter smooth if not totally linear. Calibration work needed. Standard brake button assignment is clumsy and difficult to access for me. Odd factory setting ties throttle to mixture lever in such a way that bringing throttle to neutral kills the engine(s). Bad for landings but easily fixed. I have had reasonably good experience with Logitech tech support on other products so I am hoping this one fits the mold.

Good while it worked.

The twist axis made a snapping noise and now does not return to center. At this time I'm in touch with Logitech via email support. Hopefully this will get resolved. I bought this in April of 2021. It lasted until September of 2021. 6 Months. The X55 hotas I had before this lasted years before the ghosting issue reared it's head.

Lots of buttons and switches

One of the main reasons I bought this flight controller was because of all the switches buttons and dials is has which allows you to control so much right from the stick

Great HOTAS, some nitpicks

Looking to control a game like Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous? This sick has you covered. Plenty of controls at your fingertips even before you get to assigning the switches on the throttle base. While plastic, it doesn't feel cheap or wimpy, and gives a feeling on confidence from the setup. While I would personally have made a few design changes to this product, there are plenty of buttons to map, and it works very well for 6DOF sims like Elite Dangerous. Criticisms: The throttle stick is short and some of the switches are hard to access while the throttle is in certain positions. The thumb joystick and cluster of hat switches is smaller than I expected and it's a tight area to use, particularly at 0 or 100 percent throttle. Be aware the yaw stiffness can not be adjusted with springs. Most of the issues are ergonomic annoyances, but worth being aware of. Even with adjustments, the throttle starts out a bit too stiff. It can be corrected by removing some of the grease from inside to make it less stiff. (There are no sticker-obscured screws) I had to use Velcro on the base to keep it from tipping during enthusiastic maneuvering. Just, don't use industrial Velcro like I did. A few small contact dots will suffice and keep it steady. Or, even better, get a chair mount setup and enjoy the mounting holes. It is certainly an upgrade from my X52, but the ergonomics are not as well designed. If you're considering this, I do recommend it. Just be aware of the criticisms outlined above.

I have spinal pain from a accident and can't use rudder peddles. This fit my needs perfectly. Works and looks better than the older model.

Terrible product, GREAT service from B&H!!

For the price point, the product is surpassingly cheaply made. There is a known issue with ghosting inputs while using the throttle quadrant. It delivers random inputs to the SIM causing view changes, firing and unplanned navigation commands. This happens even when hands-off. Also happens so badly that computer cannot enter sleep mode. The product is TERRIBLE! I have returned it for full refund. B&H Customer Service is TOP NOTCH~~

How long are you cables? Does this device have problems when using USB extension cables? Are the cables detachable? If the cables are detachable, what is the "device side connection"?
Asked by: Frank
Hello, the cables are 2m (6.6 ft) and are built into the joystick and throttle bodies, so they are not detachable. You should be fine with a USB extension, as it only uses USB 2.0. If you are using a USB hub, it needs to be a powered hub.
