Works With Older Joel Grimes Beauty Dish

I purchased this with the hope that it would work with my older Joel Grimes Beauty Dish that had a permanent Bowens mount. I had recently upgraded to ProFoto from some older monolights. It worked! The fit is perfect. One simply has to remove four screws and nuts and pull the old one out and then place this one back. One should have a modicum of skill using small hand tools. It seems as if Westcott has replaced the permanent screw mount with a quick release mechanism now. Smart move, as many folk like me have more than one lighting brand. The item itself is sturdy and well built. Same can be said for the Westcott modifiers, so I'm glad I can continue to use this one.

Not sure why others are giving bad reviews. I have a b10 and bought this the other day and it fits perfect and works just like it is supposed to. Due to the previous reviews, I questioned if it would fit properly and the BH employee ensured me that they had personally seen it fit on the b10 as intended. Another great experience working with BH

awful design

this profoto adapter feels very cheap and the locking collar does not stay in place. as a whole the design of the system is poor and lacks any type of locking device meaning the soft box will turn on its own. not worth price point. disappointed

Im not a complainer, but honestly.. there is NO WAY this is going to fit in a profoto diameter. If you people from Westcott are reading this, please check your product specifications, try.. and built a new one. When attached to my new B10, the clamp was so hard that I thought I was about to break the strobe. I did once and never again. And now I have a Westcott beauty dish that I can not use.  The only way I could use this item is without adjusting the clamp, but then the beauty dish is not tight either, so moving and loose. Bad, bad, bad.

Was looking for a portable soft box for the B10 and the Switch series seemed like a winner, however I am finding it extremely difficult to get the Profoto insert onto my strobe as easily as I do my other Profoto Softboxes. The diameter of the insert seems a bit small. My Profoto D2 won't even come close to accepting this insert, the B10 can get it on but doesn't get to the 1 mark let alone all the way back.

It's a Profoto and if you use Profoto gear this is the only choice you have. I'm still waiting for my Westcott 36 beauty dish which has been backordered for several months most likely due to the pandemic. Once that arrives we'll see how it fits.
