The Blackwire 5220 headset has been designed for all day use, which is why it features a cushioned metal headband for durability and comfort, as well as leatherette ear cushions, which fold flat for easy storage. When using them all day, you can jump back and forth between calls and other audio, like your favorite music, thanks to the Dynamic EQ. Dynamic EQ automatically adjusts and optimizes the audio settings between phone calls and multimedia.

Noise-Canceling Microphone

When you need to switch to an important call, the built-in flexible boom microphone works to mask nearby talkers and ambient noise for maximum privacy and clarity.

Inline Remote

When using the inline remote, you gain additional control over your audio experience. Use it to call or end phone calls, mute the microphone, and adjust the earpad volume up and down.

Hearing Protection

SoundGuard DIGITAL technology is designed to protect your hearing against sound levels above 118 dBA. Anti-Startle is activated during calls to detect, and eliminate, any large, sudden increase in signal level. With the downloadable Plantronics Hub software, Time-Weighted Average prevents average daily noise exposure from exceeding 85 dBA, and additional low level protection limits peak levels to 102 dBA.

Plantronics Blackwire 5220 Reviews

Better cell phone headset

This headset works well because it doesn't fully cover the ear so you can kind of hear how loud you are. But it covers enough that it feels private. I've asked several of the colors how I sound and they said it was really clear. I use The headset specifically for my zoom like meetings. I dial in via my cell phone and use the headset. I have found using the audio this way is better than with the computer audio. It eliminates any delays and or feedback. So far so good. I've only had it for a couple weeks now.

Excellent headphones for conference calls. etc

Comfortable, good sound quality. Good integration with Zoom (mute works!). Would have given 5 stars but headset control is too far down the cable length.

Got these to replace my old Plantronics .Audio 650 USB Multimedia Headset that was falling apart after 5 years. Very pleased so far with Blackwire 5220 Type-A. Worked out of the box. Much better vocal clarity and fairly decent noise cancelling. Headset is comfortable. I have a small head and these fit very well without slipping forward as did the USB 650 headset. Decent listening to music and videos as well. The carrying case/pouch is handy and the headset collapses flat for easy storage and transport. Will update this review if anything changes after using the headset for a while. I've only had it for 2 weeks.

The ear pads are soft and comfortable to wear. Others report they don't hear me typing during Zoom conferences.

Better than bluetooth.

I have been using headsets for business telephony for more than 30 years and finally found a set that I am not disappointed in. I gave up on bluetooth headsets for too many reasons to list here. Sound quality is crystal clear and the earpads are so comfortable I almost forget I am wearing them. Controls located 'mid-cord' well designed and easy to use. Overall feels like a headset that should cost much more.

The sound is great, the fit a little loose

I love the headset overall. I am just a little disappointed with the fit, but perhaps that works out better for others.

My 5220 is recognized as a 5210

My headset is recognized as the mono version when it is the stereo one. The audio quality lacks a lot because of that, can't properly work without the stereo sound. Tried installing the hub app but it still didn't work. I don't know what to do... PS. the headset works stereo if connected directly to the 3.5 port on the pc. It seems like it's a hub problem.
