YELANGU S60T Reviews

Requires strong wrists and hands

I've been looking for a stabilizer to use with the DJI P2 to reduce bounce and swing when moving. I'd hoped this would work; sadly it does not do much to help. Even with very light weights, it is heavy. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to hand hold, for more than a few minutes at a time, with a DSLR mounted atop -- and heavier corresponding balance weights. I hope to find a use for it.

Easy set up, practice required

Going in to this purchase I knew that there would be a learning curve using a camera stabilizer. I viewed many videos and read reviews on camera stabilizers from the GlideCams to much lower priced options. Just starting out a video production company so money is tight. The Yelangu stabilizer has a smooth axis rotation in all directions on the gimbal/ handle. Weights are adjustable on the base and the shaft has a quick release extend for counterbalance. I'm using a Nikon D7500 DSLR with an 18-55 lens. Whether you decide to get this one or something more expensive, do yourself a huge favor and watch videos on how to set up any stabilizer. I had it balanced in about 10 minutes, however, I had watched an hour or more of vids to learn. So far, I find it very smooth. You will need to master the duck walk and your body is part of the shock absorbing system. The camera rotates freely on the shaft so you will need to learn the feather touch to guide the camera. This would be true with an $800 GlideCam as well. Overall build quality seems solid however some of the plastic parts wouldn't hold up to abuse. The storage bag is lightweight and I expect the zipper to stop working, but no big deal since I have moved the stabilizer into a better case with storage for the extra weights. If you are someone who takes care of their gear, then this could be a great addition to your kit.

It's okay, but not great

I felt like once I got everything stabilized that the product wanted to swing back and forth and turn one way or another without me intending it to do so. I wouldn't recommend this to folks looking for steady video. It's just not quite stable enough. I suppose maybe the weights could be further apart or heavier or something?

Been sitting here to get it balanced since lunch time (4 hours) and it doesn’t seem to agree with the weight of my camera. Highly don’t recommend for blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4K.

I am using this with a Fujifilm x-t30 and the setup is quick and simple (less than 5 minutes first time). My only complaint would be that release mechanism for balancing the camera horizontally is placed in a somewhat awkward spot and can be blocked by the lens. That said, if you are looking for something cheap(ish), simple and quick, the YELANGU will likely make you happy.

For the price of the yelangu stabilizer it's worth it. Super firm holds my cannon 90d in place really well. It will get tiring holding it around everywhere so definitely disassemble your camera from the stabilizer when not in use. For a budget stabilizer it's solid.

Great for the price, but be careful

I purchased this product as someone who has never purchased or used a stabilizer of this kind before. With that being said, I have done video work before, so I had an idea of what to expect. For the price, this product is quite suitable, and seems to be a decent stabilizer to start off with. It is made out of durable metal and carbon fiber, with only the locking collar being made out of plastic. The range of extension is what I would consider a sufficient amount for most applications, and the controls are quite intuitive. Overall, It will be a great starter tool to add to your toolkit as a videographer, keeping in mind the not so great things listed below. Unfortunately, and why I rated this product 3 stars, this product seems to have quite a few little design flaws. Firstly, you will be dissapointed if you expected to get detailed setup instructions with your product: The manual comes in both English and Chinese, and the English on the manual is not translated well at all from Chinese (which I will assume was the original language). Fortunately you will be able to find help on the internet on how to set up your system, as setup procedures are usually pretty similar across all handheld stabilizers such as this one. Secondly, If your camera does not weigh enough, you may not be able to properly balance it without adding some weight to your camera in some way (I set up my a6400 with the 18-135 kit lens - about 25 ounces - and was unable to balance it correctly). Thirdly, if you wish to contract the extension all the way in, you will need to fight with the locking knob, as it is too long and will not be able to rotate from one side to the other. Finally, the adjustment knob that slides both the qr plate and forward/backward control is not easy to adjust finely, and takes a lot of carefully controlled shifts to set correctly. Overall, this product is quite decent for its price, yet if you plan to use this quite often, or for higher quality work, it may be worth your while to purchase a more expensive stabilizer.

would a Pansonic AG-CX350 balance well on this unit? The weight is 4.19lbs, I assume the heavier the better it handles on stabilization?
Asked by: Jimmy
This has a 6.6 pound load capacity, so it is possible. However we would tend to recommend something like the B&H # FLCMRK for a camcorder the size of the CX350. You will have better results with this we feel. https://bhpho.to/3m6Vw9a

How well will this balance a Canon 5D Mk III with the 24-105mm lens?
Asked by: Kaylee
I use a 5D Mkiii with Laowa 12 mm and 70D with Canon 10/22 mm, It works well with both. I haven't tried it with my Canon 24/105, however you should be able to adjust for the longer barrel of the 24/105. It does take PRACTICE to use, especially controlling the lateral rotation. If lateral rotation is not important to you try a two axis.

I’ve been reading you need a heavier setup to be able to balance on these lower cost stabilizers, I shoot with a Sony a6000. Do you think I could still use it with this camera?
Asked by: Charlotte
We are not aware of any minimum load capacity for this gimbal. It should be able to balance an A6000 well.

Can I use a manfrotto 501 plate (already on my cameras) on this stabilizer out of the box or do I need to buy a separate adapter plate?
Asked by: Tim
That is not possible out of the box. However you can purchase the Manfrotto 577 Rapid Connect Adapter with Sliding Mounting Plate (501PL), B&H # MA577, to use the 501PL plate on this stabilizer. https://bhpho.to/2mRIakh
