The EDCL1-T housing is machined from an aluminum alloy finished with an anodized hard coat, and is equipped with a two-way clip for bezel-up or down carry. SureFire's Total Internal Reflection (TIR) collimating lens produces a pre-focused beam with a tight center cone of bright light, yet sufficient peripheral light for situational awareness. Knurling on the body and tailcap assure a secure grip.

nice built. small enough to fit inside any of your pocket. low output lead is for people who likes to use it for every simple task not requiring a ;lot of output. with one strong push to the back will give you bright light but the 500 lumen decribed not really as bright as my fury defender. so there must be some mistake on surefires lumen descripacies there.

Absolutely perfect, but with some "features" :)

Hoorray! Just a moment ago I have received my 1-T. Right from the start — it is nearly perfect, but! This “gas pedal” interface has issues — it needs tuning to work reliably: 1. You twist the tail cap too far — and you get a full power preflash when you need low; 2. You twist the tail cap insufficiently — and no matter how hard you press, you get low only. Of course, this is not a problem when you understand the issue, but I saw people complaining of a preflash. This is not a flaw, this is a feature of the “gas pedal” mechanical construction. P.S.: With my sample I need to twist the head to a constant low mode position. Then untwist it 180 back to get 100% reliable two stage “gas pedal” functionality. BTW, when on constant low button press gives momentary high.

Could Be Better

Quality manufacturing! Design could be better. Push button tail cap is a little difficult to use. Other Sure Fire push button tail caps are a little higher and easier to push. Would have liked a little narrower and brighter concentration beam of light.

FINALLY. typical surefire bombproof construction. Excellent knurling on the aluminum body. More than adequate run time for one CR123 battery. Pocket friendly size. Plenty of brightness. Beam is focused but still has enough spill around the hot spot to light up anything you need to see. Hands down my favorite EDC light! I recently purchased the Surefire Tactician, but I just wasn't a fan of the pocket clip/bezel up setup. I was surprised at the light on the EDCL1-T: the 5 lumens seems much brighter than the specs would lead you to believe. I compared the 800 lumen tactician and the 500 lumen EDCL1-T and honestly couldn't tell much of a difference. The tighter beam pattern of the TIR lens makes the 500 lumens seem a tad bit brighter than the floody beam pattern of the 800 lumen maxvision beam of the tactician. LOVE the gas pedal switch... was worried we'd never see that again... THANK YOU Surefire for listening to your customers and bringing that back! If you're on the fence about this light... BUY ONE! As always, excellent customer service from B&H Photo!

question

Is this a brand new in the box light? Does it come with the pic mount?
Asked by: Anonymous
yes new in box, BH Photo is a very reputable retailer with a very clear return policy. The mount is attached to the frame of the light. They also have a scout light that uses AA. That is good too
