Telex LH-302 Reviews

Good for using with Skype/VOIP on Mac/PC, not stereo

I've been looking for a high quality, wired headset that I can use with my Mac for Skype. Have issues using bluetooth headsets (signal drops) during calls. I needed something durable for tossing in my briefcase daily. I've used dedicated VoIP sets like Plantronics, but don't like that they are USB-based, have in-line controls, and flimsy cable assemblies. The telex plugs right into the 3.5mm headset port on the Mac. I also have used this with my iPhone using the lightning-to-3.5mm headset adapter. The speakers on this headset are tuned for voice (this isn't for listening to music), so you won't have full range bass as with regular headphones. Similarly, it's not a stereo headset. Been a while since I've used a PC, so not sure if the headphone output is TRRS. If you need a dual plug for your computer, you can get a TRRS splitter to split the mic and headphone jacks.

Can the mic be muted, or does that require a belt pack?
Asked by: Kevin
The Telex LH-302 Lightweight RTS Double-Sided Broadcast Headset does not have an onboard mute switch for the mic. The microphone will need to be muted externally, from a switch on the beltpack or device that the headset is connected to.
