Watched a quick video on how to use and started making our own SDI cabling. So much better than buying pre made cabling.

A timesaver on big projects

If you're stripping and crimping lots and lots of SDI or other cables, this tool can be of assistance. Personally, I took just about as much time stripping a cable with this tool than I could free-handing it, but that's not to say this tool wouldn't eventually be faster once I fully understood it. I was a little concerned at how short this tool cut my Belden 1505A's copper. I don't usually cut it that short. However, I went for it and finished crimping the BNC connector on, tested it, and hey it worked! No problems so far. So I think I was worried over nothing. The tool knows what it's doing. On a good note, I really appreciated that this tool cut down the metal medusa shielding stuff that always sticks out of the crimp neck. I would have to manually trim it back before crimping, otherwise you'd see the metal hairs sticking out... and it's just a bad look. Nice and clean with this tool! I would get this tool if you foresee doing a lot of cables. Over time, it will pay for itself in saving you time.

Perfect tool for the job

If you do coaxial cable terminations you must have this tool, or something like it. This is fast, repeatable and dependable and has a jacket-splitting feature which lets the user just peel off the remaining jacket for a perfectly-stripped cable, ready for the connector.

This Stripper will change your life! Quick and easy to use.

I specifically purchased this cable stripper for my Belden 1855A cable, it does come with a default setup on the blades. But mine needed a little fine tuning. (About 15 mins of testing) Its easy to do once you figure out how it works (read the manual!) Make sure you twist it around the cable at least 20 times. Its not hard and takes a few seconds. On the final step before removing the cable from the cutter, you need to press down on the yellow handle (you will understand once you get the product), only put light to medium pressure on it. As it cuts the outer layer along the cable for ease of removal (again, you will understand once you try it). If you press to hard, it will also cut the inner shielding layer! (practise this step during your blade adjustment process) Im using the Belden RG6 BNC connectors (1855ABHD3) and its cuts it perfectly for these as well. Very happy and well priced (compared to Australian prices). Once its setup, takes about 5 mins a cable to make now! (Cutting cable length, stripping ends, crimping connectors and heatshrink) Could probably do this faster, but im watching youtube at the same time...

I rarely am pleased or displeased enough to bother reviewing stuff. This thing is fantastic. It may be that I had such a terrible experience with my old stripper that I'm over losing the quality of this one. That so, I'm impressed with the quality, adjustability and ease of use. Couldn't be happier.

I use this to strip for Belden 1694 3 piece crimp connectors and they are perfect. They have a preset to make it exact for that cable. Could not be more pleased with how quick this makes my workflow.

No, the Canare TS100U Coaxial Cable Stripper (5-in-1) does not work with a 5.5 coax Canare cable. You need to use a generic coax stripper.

Will this cut RG179 sized coax cabled?
Asked by: Michael
I believe the RG179 might be too small to use with the TS100E or TS100U stripper. knowing the manufacture, model number of the coax, & which connector being used would be helpful.
