Linear Axis Stabilization
By themselves, 3-axis motorized gimbals can compensate for movement in the pan, tilt, and horizon axes. However, linear movement, especially vertical movement, remains unchecked. Implementing the spring-loaded isolation arm and vest from traditional Steadicam stabilizers absorbs any unwanted vertical motion brought about by walking/running or arm fatigue.
Weight Distribution
While the spring-loaded arm provides additional movement isolation, the vest reduces arm fatigue by distributing the weight of the gimbal setup over the operator's torso. Having the weight more evenly distributed allows for the operator to more easily accomplish long takes and complex maneuvers with fewer breaks before or after shots.

I will start off by saying that this is the first stabilization vest I've worn, but I was expecting it to be better. The simplest reason for this is that the metal on the front, that goes up the middle of your torso, HAS NO PADDING ON IT!!! The weight of the arm pulls the vest away from you, so the chest plate won't kill you, but it is straight metal corners on your shirt/chest. I'm baffled that they didn't put any padding on that one section. Besides that, the spring arm and interface all works really well together with my Ronin-M. I would give the arm and connection to the gimbal 5 stars, but 3 stars for the vest. When I saw the Sedicam brand, I thought I could just go for it and save myself a lot of research time. Now I know better.

The Steadimate Systems are designed to work with gimbals like the Ronin-MX. It is not compatible with the Glidecam HD 2000.

Do you need two people to put on the Steadicam Steadimate 15 Support System for Motorized Gimbals?
No... you fit the vest to yourself, making sure that it is centered on your body. Then you attach the arm. Once the motorized gimbal with the Steadimate is balanced, you then attach the Steadicam arm to the Steadimate. At that point you adjust the arm springs so it does not rise or dip, or go away from you or towards you. This can all be accomplished by one person.

Will this work with the Ronin 2 ? If not, which arm+vest or steadimate version will ?
You cannot use the Steadimate with the 360 degree handle on the Ronin 2, you must switch it for the traditional handlebar type handle to dock with the Steadimate. Two Steadimate systems are aavaialble... A-15 and A-30. Depending upon the weight being supported (Ronin, Camera, Accessories), you would choose the appropriate Steadimate rig.
