I recommend this Boom Bole.

I own the The 8.5' 4-Section Telescoping Carbon Fiber Microphone Boompole. I really like the comfy foam to keep your hands warm and protect against sweating to make it easier to grab and handle. It works really well. I also like the easy way to screw in and out to extend and shorten the pole. I also like how if you need to change the end for a different type of screw adaptor. I also like the protective bag for the pole. It is nicely made with some pockets. I would recommend this boom pole. It's nicely made.

Just don't unscrew it too much!

Light weight and full featured

I bought this to boom a Rode NTG-5 mic. For the price, I don't think you can find a lighter or more full featured boom pole. I originally had the Rode boom pole and it was at least twice as heavy and thick. The E-Image pole is made of carbon fiber and comes with a nice thick carrying bag. It also has internal access so that the operator can put a mic cord through it - that is very nice feature not found too often on booms at this price range. And the handle is nicely padded too. My only criticism is that the locking rings are plastic, they do feel secure and lower the weight, but time will tell if they stand up to moderate abuse - hence the four stars rather than five. Over all I do not think you'll find a lighter or more fully featured boom pole in this price range. The carrying bag is a nice touch and thick too.

Great with one flaw

this boom pole is well made, solid and works great...but the channel for the cable at the top of the pole is too small. I had to file it larger, so that a normal sized cable can run through. Overall a great, inexpensive boom pole...

Sturdy and Light Weight

I bought a couple E Image Boompoles because I do like much of the E Image products I have gotten in the past. Well made and sturdy . And this boompole is no exception. The rubber grips are quite solid feeling and the foam is quite tight and I do think will last quite some time. This model is a very good value in my mind and if you want to try to run a cable down the centre you certainly can with the notches in the bottom and the top. For the occasional use this pole should last you a long time. Is it the calibre of the 800 dollar ones that are used on a daily basis... not likely ... but the build quality and the feather light weight is great in my mind. Some may say it is a bit short but for doc or corporate interviews I think you can get away with 8 feet. The other E Image I bought is much longer but it is aluminum and pretty heavy. It too can have a cable slid down the middle if you like. If this carbon version goes on sale in the future I will pick up another.

I'm not a full time audio person, but I want to be ready for the next call that involves doing audio professionally. Looks to be well made and easy to extend, and it's lighter than the aluminum rig I was using.

question

What exactly does built in cable raceway mean? Is there a female or male XLR connection at the bottom of the pole?
Asked by: Jasmine B.
Thank you for your email. the "raceway" is a channel in the pole that guides the cable to the end of the pole for easy management. This pole does not have a built in XLR connection or cable
