a lot longer than I thought it would be. has a little flex fully extended, but that was expected. Pretty good for the price

Not Worth a Penny!

Two months after purchasing this and having it imported to India, two of the telescoping rods aren't tightening anymore. So booming the Zoom H6 or the Rode Shotgun mic is obviously a big problem. It cannot be returned or repaired. Sheer waste of money, especially having paid import fees in my stupid country.

Works as described. I haven't needed the the full 11 foot extension yet, but close to it. A good value for the price.

Great boompole, feels very sturdy and well made. I wish it had a standard 5/8" thread, but other than that it's a great product.

The E image stuff is generally video products and those have been very impressive quality from my own experience so I thought I'd give this slightly longer pole a try given the price. It is very solidly build with a great feel on the rubber grips. It can extend out quite a long way but even though it is aluminum it is a bit heavy in my mind. It is not as light as the carbon version by E Image but if you only extend out 8 feet or so the larger diameter end section gives a great grip and the sections slide together smoothly and close with a solid professional closed position. I also like the fact that the sections do not rotate around so if you are extending and have the mic attached it stays in the position you had already set. I guess they have a slot to prevent the sections from spinning around. Many more expensive poles have this feature. E Image built these to hold a cable down the middle if you choose with two slots on either end. I think this product could be used by a semi pro for many years but not sure it would be able to be used on a daily basis. I just do not know how well the grips or the foam will hold up. For my needs this is way more than high enough quality. I think it is also more than great for most people's needs as well. For the price this is a real great value.

Does the job, and does it well! It's strong, a very manageable weight, and folds up small enough to be used in small room while also telescoping out to shocking lenths

Works Great!

All my XLR cables are too thick to thread through the head of this pole. Which XLR cable is thin enough to fit?

You will need a 26 AWG mic cable.

question

is this sturdy enough to put a d810 and 14-24 lens on. I'm using this for elevated shots?
Asked by: Mike
It should be able to hold that setup. It will be top-heavy, naturally. But with a good ball head or similar, this boom pole is pretty well built. All aluminum.
