Would this work with my mm-bsm-8 binaural ...

Would this work with my mm-bsm-8 binaural headphones and MixPre-3 II to enable use of the kashmir XLR preamps instead of the aux-in one?

No, the ALZO adapter will not work because the MM-BSM-8 binaural headphones require 1.5 to 10 VDC plug-in power and the XLR inputs on the MixPre-3 II can supply 48V phantom power which is way more than needed and will likely damage the mic. The mic is designed to be used with the 3.5mm stereo plug. We have not tested it with adapters to confirm whether there will be issues with phasing and/or noise created by using a Y-type adapter, but it is very possible that could happen. If did want to try using a stereo 3.5mm Y-cable, you would need to use two XLR adapters (one for each input) like the Rode VXLR+ (B&H # ROVXLRP) which has a built-in power converter that converts phantom power to plug-in power. For the Y-adapter, you can try the Hosa Technology Stereo 3.5mm Female to Dual Mono 3.5mm Male Airline Adapter (B&H #HOYCSMF2MMRA) which splits stereo to two individual mono outputs. Again, I do want to mention that we have not tested this setup to confirm whether it will work properly or if it will sound good. We recommend connecting the mic to a 3.5mm TRS input for the proper stereo imaging it was designed to create.

Would this work with the Rode VideoMic NTG TRRS ...

Would this work with the Rode VideoMic NTG TRRS output (allowing you to record the signal in addition to the safety track separately) with any mixer with XLR inputs?

The adapter has a female 3.5mm TRS connector, so to avoid the possibility of any issues with compatibility, it would be better to use a TRS cable instead of the TRRS cable since the auto-sensing feature may not work properly when connecting to an adapter rather than directly to a mic input. For a standard TRS cable, you could use the Rode SC2 Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Coiled Patch Cable (B&H # ROSC2). As an easier solution, you can use a single Y-cable with 3.5mm TRS and left/right XLR connectors like the Kopul Y-Cable with 1/8" TRS Stereo Mini to 2 XLR Male Connectors - 3' (B&H # KOSMYCM2XM03) or Hosa Technology Pro Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm Stereo Mini to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male - 3' (B&H # HOHMX003Y) or Hosa Technology Stereo Mini-Phone (3.5mm) Male to 2 XLR Male Y-Cable - 6.6' (B&H # HOYCSMM2XM6). All of the Y-cables are available in longer lengths. The single Y-cable ensures a proper left/right split and helps to avoid introducing noise into the signal.

Can someone confirm that this cable splits the right channel and the left channel? I'm thinking it might go well with the Deity Microphone V-Mic D4 duo on and ENG type camera such as the Sony FS5.

If you have a 3.5mm miniature stereo 2 channel phone plug on a stereo microphone or stereo audio source cable, this adapter will permit a 2 channel (stereo) feed from the microphone or audio source mini-phone connection into 2 professional xlr (stereo) inputs on your recording device. At the risk of being somewhat sexist, another way to describe this adapter cable is a single 3.5mm 2 channel mini-phone (female) receptacle input splits the signal to a 2 channel output feed to left and right xlr (male) plugs to connect to xlr camera inputs. We understand that this is a somewhat over extended description, but hopefully it will answer your query.
