How do you assign the short cut keys? There is no software in the box and I cannot find any online at Microsoft. Also the cap lock key does not have an indicator light.

According to Microsoft, "Customizable features require Mouse and Keyboard Center app." And, yes, there is no indicator light for Caps Lock on that keyboard which appears to be a design choice. Some manufacturers have chosen to add an indicator light somewhere on keyboards they offer to indicate Caps Lock is engaged when the indicator is not on the key itself - this keyboard does not appear to have such an indicator light.
