PlexDisc PLEX/633-214 Reviews

Pretty bad discs

These discs have some serious quality control issues. I am used to utilizing every megabyte when burning my discs. With these it is quite impossible. Towards the end of the disc the data becomes hard to read or not readable. They are rated at 6x burn speed but I don't recommend anything over 2x speed. If you stick with data under 20GB, these are fine. Just don't use them for important stuff! For regular backups they are OK, if you have additional copies of the data. Price is attractive but at what cost? I have used Verbatim, Falcon or Sony in the past. Never have I seen this bad of a media. Unless QC increases, I will stay away from these discs. Not worth the hassle.

Good product, works for me, and priced right.

I use this to make system images on Win 7 Pro... before I do windows update (just to be safe, because, you know, microsoft).  Priced right and works for me.  Generally takes two of these to make a system image of my C: drive with 115 GB on it.  Good safety net.

Do not buy!

Five were bad right off the top. The first one I thought was good had a write error halfway through. Now it seems every other disc is good. Wish I could get a refund

Trouble burning to these

I need to check with some other Blu-rays, but for whatever reason burning to these disks has been far more difficult than my past experiences. They also took forever to arrive. They work great in the printer though.

Used to make system image backup for Win 7 Pro

It works, is reasonably priced. Very good product. Used with Pioneer BDR-2209. Has saved me from corruption caused by a bad windows update, that did not react well to previously installed software. I now make system image before applying any windows updates.

Cheap Packaging, but Flawless (so far).

Normally, I only use Taiyo Yuden (rebranded JVC), because they're still made in Japan and have been nothing but flawless for me. I bought these PlexDisc BD-R's due to a time crunch, have used them in a Samsung BluRay burner, and haven't had one fail yet after 10-ish burns.

Quite reliable so far

Equipment: an external LG Blu-Ray/M-Disc burner (WH16NS40) on a Mac. After more than a hundred discs, I have yet to see a single bad one. I burn at the slowest possible speed supported by the hardware, since I prefer long-term reliability (a habit since my first CD burner 25 years ago—some of my first CD-ROMs are still readable today), and I set my software to verify the burn by default. Verdict: no error yet.

Not compatible.

These may be cheaper, but you're potentially throwing your money away. My burner [Pioneer BD-RW] won't read them, it attempts to load the disc and spits it back out. I'll have to go back to the Verbatim discs that always work with my burner.
