Would it be possible to attach a beauty dish to this for portrait work?
Asked by: James J.
Unfortunately, there are no connections that would allow a beauty dish to be connected to this fixture.

question

Replacement bulbs, how to purchase?
Asked by: Josh W.
The Dracast Fresnel 2000 Daylight LED Light does not use replaceable bulbs; it uses an LED light array, which is not user-replaceable. If there is an issue with the light fixture or the LED light array becomes inoperable, you would have to send the unit back to Dracast for repair/replacement.

question

We currently use a set of 28 HMI's for a duration of 15 hrs for a photo production that runs year round. Is this equipment durable enough to be in such an environment?
Asked by: Summer R.
Yes, Dracast are built very well and LED lights can be used continuous for that time frame.

Why is there no on/off switch?

Why is there no on/off switch?
Asked by: Mitch
Dracast says that it intended for the dimmer dial on the Dracast Fresnel 2000 Daylight LED Light to control the power. By dialing it down to "0" yu are effectively turning the light off.

question

My unit has a high pitch whistle sound that can be heard when turned on. Is this normal? I know older HMI's have silent modes but I I can't get an answer from Dracast on this, they are giving me the silent treatment.

question

Can you power this from a 24 volt battery if so what is the input connection?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. There is a 24-volt input on the right side of the unit. I don't know what the connector is called, though. It's circle-shaped, and the outside of it is threaded. The inside is a half inch in diameter (I measured), and has two pins. It looks rather like a male XLR connector (so in other words your cable would have to be female), except that there are only two pins instead of the standard 3. There is a nub in the top of the inside of the circle to prevent a cable being inserted upside-down (one of the pins has positive polarity and the other has negative). I'm sorry I don't know what this connector is called, but if you want to contact me directly I can probably email you a picture of it if that would help.
