Featuring a V-mount battery plate, the Pro Series LED500 Daylight LED Light Panel from Dracast is an ideal choice for the location or studio work where color accuracy, control, and flicker-free output are of major importance. The LED500's daylight-balanced output is well suited for outdoor work or color-matching HMI fixtures, while its high CRI of 96 renders colors with precision and fidelity. Dimming from 0 to 100% is conveniently done with a back-panel knob that adjusts the output with negligible color shift. The low electrical draw of just 30W means a timely return on your investment.

Can I use this light as a key light for interviews?
Asked by: George
Yes, it will work for interviews, however, like most LED array lights the output falls off rapidly with distance due to the individual lenses on each of the LEDs. So you get a "sheet of light" as opposed to a beam. Barn doors are recommended due to the lateral spill, which could cause reflections you don't want. The accessory diffusers help soften the sometimes visible digital pattern, but reduce the light output even more.

question

It seems the design of this model has recently changed (for the better) but I am wondering if it still comes with the barndoors or any diffusion/gels?
Asked by: Michael B.
No, the Dracast LED500 does not come with barn doors. It comes with Yoke, case, AD adapter and the specific one picked comes with a V mount battery plate.

question

Does the battery get charged from being on when the unit is using AC so then you can use it outdoors? I don't see any cable to hook to battery directly.
Asked by: Anonymous
No, the battery does not get charged that way, you would need a separate charger. I upgraded the batteries to B&H # DR95SI which can be charged w/o the dracast charger. alternatively you could get the dracast charger B&H# DRCH2V

question

I see the barndoors for this, but not the gels made to fit. Aren't there gels mad to fit right into the barndoors?
Asked by: Anonymous
I haven't come across gels specifically made for the Dracast Led500. B&H has a lot of gel packs, many are 12 by 12 which you can just cut in half and slide right into the barndoors. I went to a local photo store and bought gel sheets, very cheap, and just cut them to fit the frame. I also got an appropriate color gel to change the balance to tungsten.

question

What's the approx. Run time on a fully charged battery?
Asked by: Gary
Gary, It depends on the battery. One Watt-hour runs one Watt for one hour. At full power this light draws 30 Watts. If you dim it down at all it will draw less. A 150 Wh battery will run this light at full power for around five hours. If the light is dimmed down at all, it will run for longer. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at [email protected]
