It's primary use is to light up close underwater subjects. Being able to adjust the strobe output is wicked.

question

I'm using a Nikon D90 or Nikon D610 in the Dicapac underwater case. I also have 2 pocket wizard tranceivers - I'm looking to only be 10 feet underwater. Will this strobe work for what I have?
Asked by: Anonymous
The ULTRAPOWER UXDS-1 Digital Underwater Strobe Head is a slave strobe. You need a sync cord or hot shoe connection in order to use a Pocket Wizard. So this is not going to work. Also Pocket Wizards will not work underwater. Aquatica does produce the Water Wizard housing for the Pocket Wizard Plus III. You need a housing that has a bulkhead for an Ikelite sync cord and strobes that also use Ikelite sync cords. The Water Wizard housing has to float on the surface. Please send an email to [email protected]bhphoto.com. Let us know what you are trying to do and we will be able to help.

question

HelloI've recently purchased a Nikon WP-N2 which houses a Nikon 1 J3 would this strobe work with this setup? Also would the BTS flex arm with cold shoe adaptor and ys fitting work in combination?
Asked by: Anonymous
The ULTRAMAX ULTRAPOWER UXDS-1 strobe could be used with the Nikon WP-N2. To fire the strobe you will need the ULTRAMAX 3.3' Coiled Fiber-Optic Cable Kit. ULTRAMAX says this cable will fit the fiber optic cable ports on the Nikon housing. The cable also features touch fasteners on the end for housings that do not have fiber optic cable ports. Here is the link for the cable: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1045158-REG/ultramax_uxds_foc_3_3_coiled_fiber_optic_cable.htmlThe Beneath the Surface Small Single-Handle Underwater Travel-Lite Tray Kit is a good choice for attaching a single UXDS-1 strobe to the housing.
